Our Story
It Started At The Bottom Of A Mountain.
Our story began where so many great ones do — at the foot of a mountain after a perfect day of skiing.
We sat down for an après-ski beer just as the afternoon sun started its descent. We pulled off our goggles, looked back up at the slopes, and reached for our sunglasses. Of course, we hadn't packed them.
Traditional sport sunglasses are simply too bulky to carry in a jacket pocket and too fragile to survive a fall. So we'd left them behind that morning — like we always did. Squinting against the glare, the question hit us: wouldn't it be great if premium performance sunglasses were actually portable? Something you could take everywhere, safely, comfortably, unobtrusively.
To make it work, the lenses would have to collapse cleanly when stowed, then deploy instantly into a rigid, high-performance frame — one that could stand toe-to-toe with the world's most established eyewear brands. They had to be real, sustainable, and meticulously engineered.
That single question launched a years-long journey to find the answer. Which, of course, was yes. The answer is Popticals.

The lenses are made by Carl Zeiss Vision, the global leader in optical science. Manufactured in ISO 14001:2015 certified facilities. Nothing is outsourced to chance.
