We partnered with optics industry leader Carl Zeiss Vision to create NYDEF® lenses. Using a nylon construction, NYDEF® lenses offer exceptional performance and visual enhancement. NYDEF® lenses use a nylon construction material that offer a significant boost in clarity compared to polycarbonates used in most other sunglass lenses.
Nylon has high material pureness, causing less light correction and a greater overall clarity when compared to polycarbonate. Enhanced clarity means better vision and higher performance, allowing you to see deeper below the surface of the water when fishing, spot more details when skiing or hiking trails, more accurately read golf greens, and improve every experience of your active life.
FRAME TECH
Popticals are hand-designed and masterfully crafted in Italy. Our initial designs are hand-shaped, molded, then assembled, painted and finished by hand. Our sunglasses reflect the highest artisanal standards and are made with the best materials available.
Lightweight, transparent plastics commonly used for sunglasses can’t provide high-performance and durability. With very low density, Grilamid TR 90 is lightest-engineered plastic on the planet. Used in all Popticals, it provides excellent durability while remaining lightweight and transparent enough to accommodate a broad spectrum of color. Plastics used in sunglasses typically experience surface weathering over time due to sunlight, moisture and other environmental elements. Grilamid TR 90 is extremely resistant to weathering and will stand up to long-term outdoor usage and even extreme climatic conditions.
Because of its lower density than other materials used in the manufacture of eyeglasses, Grilamid TR 90 also ensures that your sunglasses remain lightweight. For all day comfort. For everywhere you’re going.
FL2 MICRO-RAIL SYSTEM™
At the heart of Popticals’ patented design is our FL2 Micro-Rail System™, which uses stainless steel pins that move along a track within the frames for smooth and effortless movement. A powerful magnet guides and locks the connecting pieces in the center of the frames to create a secure and solid connection when in use.
When you’re ready to pack your Popticals, just pull lightly at the point of connection to separate and collapse them for storage. All components of the FL2 Micro-Rail System™ are made from corrosion- and rust-proof materials to ensure durable, long-lasting functionality.
