Given the light amplification often present in ski environments, we recommend considering mirroring, which reflects light away from your eyes, providing additional protection and visual clarity. Also, we recommend against using polarized lenses for skiing. While highly effective in reducing glare, polarized lenses flatten images and affect depth perception. Non-polarized NYDEF® lenses keep depth of field intact and allow you to see reflected light that helps distinguish contours and snow coverage on the mountain.
For all-mountain use, we recommend a lens with a gray base and a green or blue mirror. For brighter days, gray may provide optimal light dampening; for cloudier days, copper may optimize light enrichment
