But we set out to do more. We wanted to change sunglasses by making them truly portable so that they would safely collapse into an easily transportable size when not in use.
We sought to offer more than the “foldable” sunglasses already in the marketplace. We wanted our sunglasses to compact much further, into a more protective, more easily carried size.

We are sunglass enthusiasts who bring diverse skills and backgrounds to our pursuit of elevating the quality, durability and convenience of sunglasses. Gary and Dana DiSalvo co-lead Popticals in its quest to revolutionize sunglasses, fusing exceptional quality with unique portability.

Gary’s background blends more than 20 years of corporate and entrepreneurial experiences, melding his skills in strategic planning, sales leadership and client experience for the benefit of Popticals and its community of sunglass enthusiasts. Gary deploys his Popticals on the golf course, on the water while boating, and at outdoor concerts and sporting events (where, at last, he doesn’t have to worry about how to store his sunglasses when the sun goes down).
COO
After 20 years in the corporate world and ready to welcome a third child to her family, Dana decided to focus on raising her family. A few years later, she built a successful personalized gift and home décor business that expressed and deepened her entrepreneurial spirit. With passions for creativity and design, operations and customer service, Dana is always with her Popticals while coaching or cheering her kids’ sports endeavors, and while running around town on errands…including an occasional shopping spree with her teenage daughter.
Advisor
As a consultant, Tom brings 40+ years of diverse executive experience, including stints as CMO, President and subsidiary CEO of multiple companies, as well as numerous board positions, to Popticals. Popticals fit well with Tom’s lifelong loves of fishing and skiing, and his more recent and infinitely more frustrating romance with golf. He deploys his Popticals poolside, usually listening to Pink Floyd or Rachmaninoff, possibly while revisiting an Ayn Rand or Carl Hiaasen novel.
Popticals are part of an engaged and active lifestyle, often embracing outdoor adventure. Sustaining the best of the great outdoors is important to the Popticals community and consistent with our mission.
That’s why for each pair of Popticals that we sell, we will make a donation to the National Park Foundation, which is the official charity of the National Park Service, providing support for our more than 400 parks. The Foundation, formed in 1967 by private citizens from all walks of life, works to connect youth to outdoor experiences, enhance the visitor experience, restore vulnerable species and habitats, fund research, maintain trails, address backlogged maintenance, and more.
