I've always been told polarized sunglasses are the best. Why are these intentionally NON-polarized?
Polarized lenses are excellent for fishing or boating because they block horizontal glare reflecting off the water. But on a golf course, glare is critical information. The light reflecting off the blades of grass tells you the direction of the grain and the slope of the green. Polarization blocks this light, flattening the green and ruining your 3D depth perception. NYDEF® Golf lenses are strictly non-polarized so you can accurately judge distance to the pin and read the break.
Should I take my sunglasses off when I'm putting to get a "true" read?
Absolutely not. Taking your glasses off shocks your pupils with bright light, causing you to squint and lose focus immediately. NYDEF® lenses actually enhance the contrast of the grass, making the dark (uphill) and light (downhill) patches much easier to see than with your naked eye. Put them on at the first tee and leave them on until the 18th hole.
What is the difference between the Purple and Violet lenses, and which should I choose?
Both filter out the heavy green saturation of the course, but they transmit different amounts of light. Purple filters out more light, making it ideal for bright, sunny days and younger players whose eyes efficiently capture light. Violet allows slightly more light transmission, making it perfect for overcast or cloudy days, or for older players who naturally require a bit more light to maintain sharp vision.
What does "Abbe 52" mean, and why should I care?
The Abbe value measures the optical clarity of a lens material. Standard polycarbonate sport sunglasses have an Abbe value of around 30, which causes a microscopic "rainbow blur" at the edges of objects. NYDEF® Nylon lenses, engineered by Carl Zeiss Vision, boast an Abbe value of 52. This is nearly identical to the clarity of the human eye and premium glass. It means zero edge-distortion and zero eye strain.

Will they fall off or slip down my nose when I swing?
No. Popticals utilize Swiss Grilamid® TR90 memory polymer, which has an ultra-low density of 1.01 g/cm³ - roughly 16% lighter than standard sport sunglasses. This featherweight design, paired with the flexibility of the frame, means they grip your head securely without reliance on clamping force, preventing any slip during your swing.
Will the moving rails get jammed with sand, dirt, or sunscreen?
The FL2 Micro-Rail System® uses an "open-track" architecture made of precision-machined, high-tensile stainless steel. There are no enclosed gears to get jammed. If you do get sand or dirt in the mechanism, simply run it under fresh tap water and slide it open and closed a few times; it will clear instantly and will never rust.
Are the frames durable? They feel so light.
The "weightless" feel is advanced engineering, not fragility. Grilamid® TR90 is a Swiss "memory polymer" with high dynamic loading capacity, meaning it bends and flexes to absorb dynamic impacts without snapping like rigid polycarbonate frames. Will the frames warp if I leave them in my car?

Can I just throw them loose into my golf bag when I'm done?
We strongly advise against it. Loose tees, divot tools, and zippers can easily scratch premium optics. Always collapse your Popticals into their protective hardshell vault. Because the footprint is so small, the case easily fits into your valuables pouch or clips directly to your bag via the carabiner.
How should I clean the lenses and case on the course?
For the lenses, NEVER use a golf towel. Golf towels hold microscopic sand and dirt that will permanently scratch premium optics. Always use the provided microfiber cloth. For the hardshell case itself, a simple wipe down with a damp cloth works perfectly.
Will the glasses rattle around in the case when driving the golf cart?
No. The interior is precision-molded specifically for the collapsed FL2 Micro-Rail System™. This mechanical "cradle" architecture ensures that the rail system remains perfectly aligned and secure, even under heavy golf cart vibration.

2-Year Manufacturer Warranty
Every pair of Popticals is protected by a two-year warranty from the original purchase date against manufacturer's defects in materials or workmanship. If the rail system or frame fails under normal use conditions, we will repair or replace the product at no charge.
What Is Not Covered?
The manufacturer's warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, including scratched lenses, or damage caused by neglect or improper usage. (However, we offer assistance for this through our Accidental Replacement Program!).

$75 Accidental Replacement
Accidents happen. If you accidentally damage your Popticals (scratched lenses, frame breakage, crushed frames, etc.), you are eligible for a one-time replacement for a flat $75 fee within 2 years of purchase. Simply send us the damaged frames, pay the flat fee, and we will deploy a brand new pair of equal or lesser value.
